How To Identify Hail Damage on Your Roof
Identifying damage from a hailstorm can be tricky. You have to consider the wind speed and direction, as well as the size of the hail when determining if the damage you see is from hail or was already present. For shingled roofs like the ones in the lab test, you will want to look for damaged spots that have no recognizable pattern. You may also want to keep an eye out for exposed roof felt, spots that are soft to the touch, and shiny asphalt.

How We Know Renueit-17 Passes the Test
After following testing strategies used by the research organization Underwriters Laboratory, Johnson dropped a steel ball onto each roof sample. The ball was dropped from about 20 feet, six times, onto the same spot each time. After the experiment, Johnson and Winget together show that each sample with a single coating of Renueit-17 passed the experiment with minimal to no damage.
Winget explains that the most important thing to keep an eye out for is any potential tearing on the underside of the shingles. Tearing brings leaks and water into your home, damaging it’s overall structure if not caught in time.
